Lemko Corporation today announced Congresswoman Melissa Bean visited their headquarters to discuss job creation opportunities brought forth by the Broadband Stimulus plan. Lemko is participating in multiple Broadband Stimulus applications toward funds set aside for the provision of telecommunication services to un-served and under-served areas across the United States. The money is part of the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which Congresswoman Melissa Bean and her colleagues passed earlier this year.

“The Recovery Act invests in the telecommunications infrastructure essential to our country’s future growth. It is instrumental in creating short term and long term jobs necessary to long-term economic growth,” Congresswoman Melissa Bean stated.

During her visit Congresswoman Bean placed calls across a Lemko Node1 system that is being used to provide commercial service. Node1™ is an all IP, packet-switched mobile broadband solution. It delivers a complete cellular network at every cell site by local completion of all switching, control, authentication and CDR billing record creation. This approach eliminates backhaul, utilizes data-friendly IP lines to the cell site, and allows the operator to keep all inter-connect traffic on their network.

“Wireless service operators in rural areas must build next-generation networks at the lowest possible cost while providing a competitive set of high speed data, text and high quality voice services,” said Bo Pyskir, President, Lemko Corporation. Our Node1 systems ensure that citizens are offered a full suite of affordable services, operators have a sustainable business case for even their smallest markets and that future applications can be offered in a flexible, reliable manner.
